Daily Term: Canary Deployment

Canary Deployment

Canary Deployment is a strategy where a new version of an application is rolled out to a small subset of users before a full release. For example, 5% of users might receive the new version, allowing the team to monitor for issues like errors or performance degradation. If successful, the rollout continues; if not, it’s rolled back. Canary deployments reduce risk but require monitoring and routing mechanisms to manage user traffic.
