YAGNI Principle
The YAGNI (You Aren’t Gonna Need It) Principle advises against adding functionality or complexity unless it’s currently needed. For example, a developer shouldn’t build a feature ‘just in case’ it might be useful later, as it adds unnecessary code and maintenance. YAGNI helps keep projects lean and focused, reducing technical debt, but it requires careful judgment to avoid under-engineering for legitimate future needs.
