2841. Maximum Sum of Almost Unique Subarray
Problem Explanation
Explanation
To solve this problem, we can use a sliding window technique. We will iterate over the array, keeping track of the frequency of each element in the current window. We will also maintain a set of distinct elements in the window. Whenever the size of the set reaches m, we will calculate the sum of the current subarray and update the maximum sum found so far. If the size of the set exceeds m, we will move the left pointer of the window until the size of the set becomes less than m.
The time complexity of this algorithm is O(n) where n is the length of the input array nums. The space complexity is O(n) as well since we are using a hash map to store the frequency of elements.
Solution Code
class Solution {
public int maxSumOfAlmostUniqueSubarray(int[] nums, int m, int k) {
Map<Integer, Integer> freqMap = new HashMap<>();
Set<Integer> uniqueSet = new HashSet<>();
int maxSum = 0;
int sum = 0;
for (int i = 0, j = 0; j < nums.length; j++) {
freqMap.put(nums[j], freqMap.getOrDefault(nums[j], 0) + 1);
uniqueSet.add(nums[j]);
sum += nums[j];
if (j - i + 1 > k) {
freqMap.put(nums[i], freqMap.get(nums[i]) - 1);
if (freqMap.get(nums[i]) == 0) {
uniqueSet.remove(nums[i]);
}
sum -= nums[i];
i++;
}
if (j - i + 1 == k) {
if (uniqueSet.size() >= m) {
maxSum = Math.max(maxSum, sum);
}
}
}
return maxSum;
}
